Lamentation of a Nation

Lamentation of a Nation

Lamentation of a Nation

Our land, once adorned with so much grandeur, is now filled with sorrow, pain, and horror.

Our people, once united as brothers, are now divided, fighting each other.

Our children, once full of life and dreams, are now left with nothing but despair and screams.

Our mountains, once towering and sublime, are now defiled by greed and crime.

Our rivers, once pure and pristine, are now polluted, a sight so obscene.

Our fields, once lush with crops and green, are now barren, not a single seed seen.

Our nation, once a shining star, is now plagued by corruption, near and far.

Our leaders, once revered and trusted, are now despised, hated, and busted.

Oh, how we long for those days of old When hope and love were felt, and stories were told When beauty and truth were the norm And peace and justice were the norm But alas, those days seem far away A distant memory of another day We search for hope, for a guiding light To lead us through this endless night.
