WHAT A FATHERS' HUG CAN DO!

 A father's hug means

* Reassurance
* Love
*Protection
* Approval
*Kindness
*Selflessness

A dad's warm hug can really change everything, making you feel like all your worries just disappear. I have some special moments with my dad that I’ll always treasure. I can still picture that night so clearly. Back in 1994, my mom had to go work in another country, so my younger sister and I were staying with some relatives. My parents were separated, and my dad was busy working on his farm. He would come by every weekend, bringing money for school or groceries, and he often spent time chatting with our relatives. There was a stretch when I didn’t see him for weeks, and it really hurt not being able to talk to him, especially with my mom being away too. Time dragged on without his visits. Then one night, I suddenly heard someone call my name. I recognized my dad's voice immediately, and I jumped out of bed and ran outside to find him. This was the first time I was going to hug him. I was so excited that I ran right into his arms and wrapped my little hands around his waist. I exclaimed, “I missed you so much!” and he laughed. I was filled with joy and didn’t want to let go. His familiar scent surrounded me, and when he sighed with relief, he held me even tighter. For the first time, I felt completely safe and protected. That wasn’t the only hug I got from him, but it definitely made me feel like the luckiest kid in the world. My dad was a well-known farmer, and my mom and the rest of the family often chat about his farm and all the different crops he grows each year. As a kid, I always dreamed of spending a day on the farm with him, and that dream actually came true! One day, my dad showed up at our house and told my mom he was taking me out for the day. I was so pumped! He took me to the farm, and we spent the whole day together. I got to watch him plant corn, peas, yams, and a bunch of other stuff. It was even cooler when he showed me how to do it myself. He taught me how deep to plant the seeds and how far apart they should be. I learned a ton from him, and those lessons still stick with me today. My dad is everything to me. Even though he has this tough exterior, he’s really a softie at heart, and I’ll always love him for that. His hugs have changed my life; they remind me that he’s not just a provider and protector, but also an amazing friend and confidant. Even though we didn’t live together, his advice and encouragement mean more to me than anyone else’s. Happy Father’s Day, Dad! Love you!
