Twenty-five Years After
Written By Venice Jones
We can only speculate what we think they might have felt.
It’s heart-wrenching listening to stories, one after the other, wondering what would’ve been the story today if it never happened.
Families all around were shattered.
People have scattered.
There was a new normal for people who vowed to remain on the island.
Twenty-five years and people still talk about the story of the 1995 devastating volcano that shook the island. The place I now choose to call home. My Emerald paradise.
May the lives lost continue to breathe on this land, so that my children and their children may experience this beautiful paradise.
Imagine, 25 years after, and this vicious beast still plagued us.
Twenty-five years and this vicious beast seeks to take the lives of people.
This vicious beast is seeking to cause massive destruction.
Twenty-five years later, the story told of this devastating volcano.
Twenty-five years later, half of the country is still uninhabitable.
Twenty-five years later, and we have this vicious virus seeking to shatter and scatter families and lives.
Twenty-five years from now, what will the story be?
