  Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’—A Victory or an Economic Black Hole? April 2 is set to mark an unprecedented moment for Americans. The newly elected President Donald Trump has declared that he will be "liberating" the American people from tariffs that have been imposed on them. His administration promises to bring back jobs, reinvigorate domestic industries, and bolster the American workforce. But is this a realistic vision, or just another well-crafted slogan designed to electrify his MAGA supporters? During his campaign, Trump claimed that illegal immigrants were "stealing Black jobs," a statement that left many people scratching their heads. If illegal immigrants are taking jobs, wouldn’t those jobs just be American jobs? I’ll leave Black Americans to sort out that debate.
